Review of Bloodbath

If Den of Vipers and Sharp Objects had a slow burn romance, they would give birth to Bloodbath. The best genre for this book lies somewhere between dark romance and thriller. Which makes it the perfect read for me. I got my gore fix, my adrenaline rush, and a little spice all in the same place. I highly recommend S.F. Rae’s debut novel to anyone who likes dark and twisty contemporary fiction.

This book starts with Nyx waking in a strip club surrounded by dead bodies. The only problem is she does not remember how or why she got there. Which is a problem for Jason, the homicide detective who is hellbent on finding out who committed this crime, and Kaiden, the prince of crime who owns the strip club. Nyx must figure out how to get her memory back before more people are murdered, but will she like what she finds?

Kaiden is a man of means with a dark past. When he wants something, he takes it. So when he discovers, Nyx has been admitted to a local hospital he has her kidnapped, both to find out what happened and prevent her from speaking to the police. When he discovers that her memory is not intact, he keeps her. The two play a game of cat and mouse that has them falling in all the wrong ways. Or the right ways, depending on who you ask.

I cannot stop singing praises for this novel of its author. Take a look, you will not regret it!
