My poem Scientist Angel found a home in Field Guide Poetry Magazine. It is a poem about the heartbreak of being a parent and why it is still worth it.

Just Peachy

In this short story June Luz, a labor and delivery nurse, describes her experience when a patient with schizophrenia goes into labor. The traumatic birth takes place while the patient is in psychosis. June forgets about defending herself as she ensures her patient’s safety. In her pursuit to keep her patient’s unborn child alive June crosses a line she’s never crossed before and is left wondering if she made the right choice.

The Betrothal Trials.

Daiyu is a dragon. She spends her days in human form, practicing medicine along the Silk Road of ancient China. She is content to live alone, but as a Dragonborn female is expected to bear children. Her family has tried and failed to find Daiyu a husband and this is her last chance.

Kabir is an only child, he has that easy-going charm of a man who always gets his way and the humble demeanor of a person who has been judged for his vitiligo. He is fascinated with Daiyu and her ambitions. Will Kabir pass his Betrothal Trial and marry Daiyu?
