Review of A Man After Midnight

I have one word for you. . . Or at least I’ll start with one:

Wow!

Okay two:

Holy wowy!

I needed to light a cigarette after reading this, and I don’t smoke. You must read this book. I repeat, if you like dark romance, you must read this book. I will have to revisit this review. Right now, I am too worked up.

One week later and I can put more than two words together about this book. Is this a sign I should reread it? B Randall’s novella took an hour and a half to read, and I loved every minute, even as my heart broke. This story follows Devin, a sex worker in Las Vegas. She ended up in the business after transplanting to the area with her boyfriend. When he left her stranded, she chose sex work for the pay. Now she services mostly rich, powerful men.

When Finn Casey hired her, she kept her expectations low. He was one of many casino owners in Vegas. Little did she know, the darkly handsome man with the Irish accent would take over her every waking thought. What should have been a once night reprieve for Finn turned into an obsession. They know their relationship must remain a monetary transaction, but are they willing to let go of this attraction that feels like so much more?

I cannot rave enough about how fantastic this read was. I may break my rule to never read a book twice with this gem.
