Review of Prophecy’s Power

My first experience with spice in a novel was with JR Ward’s vampires. They were muscular, badass, and would kill anyone who looked at their mate wrong. What wasn’t there to like? Ward did us a favor by writing a series that included thirty-three books. But what do we vampire-smut-lovers, who have no tolerance for glitter on our heroes, do when we finish the series? We read Brenda Dyer’s Prophecy series.

Prophecy’s Power is book three of the Prophecy series. It follows Natalie as she discovers a new world of prophecy, secretes, and vampires. She’s spent most of her life feeling like she didn’t belong. Maybe because of her mother’s uncontrolled schizophrenia or that strange way she once turned a rapist into dust. Either way, she found her small successes in the world, creating her own business where she and her business partner works for themselves. Otherwise her life was simple until she witnessed an attractive man offed some strangers on her way to the grocery store.

Soren is a vampire warrior and a rising leader in his group of demon hunters. Fighting off three demons at once wouldn’t have been a problem if the human had not caught him stabbing one in the chest. He knew the moment he made eye contact he couldn’t let her go, so he tried to erase the memory from her mind. No dice. There was something special about her. So he chased her (such a great scene), locked her in his room (Oh, and these scenes were great too), and well, panicked. What was he supposed to do with her?

As you can imagine, he figured it out. This story was a real treat and I look forward to taking a break from book reviews and binging the rest of the series. Don’t miss out, click on the image of the cover to purchase this book.
