Gravity

Ball 1

Chubby cheeks, giggles, and coos

Eyes that pierce my soul

Because they were once

Made out of pieces of me

Skin to skin

Heartfelt

Ball 2

Hands made for healing

Born to touch

The fleshy part of lives

Born to hear

Your biggest fears

And your smallest dreams

Ball 3

A man

That I drew pictures in my head of

As a flirty girl

Dreaming dreams

Of rings and bells

Of babies and keys

Ball 4

A head crammed with ambition

Eyes made to study

Fingers made to weave words

I taught once

Shattering myself over and over

To send shards out

Into the wide world

Ball 5

The mocking whistle

As I move my stubborn bones

Against gravity

So weighed down

I never meant to

Take up so much space

Is this my way of hiding

Or staying afloat

Or staying strong

All these balls in the air

Hoping that when gravity takes one

It's the one that is easiest to give up
